MacGregor to supply cranes for new Nigeria IMR vessel

HELSINKI, Finland – A new subsea IMR vessel under construction by Havyard in Norway will feature two MacGregor cranes.
The cranes are for a new Havyard 857 subsea inspection, maintenance, and repair vessel being built for Marine Platforms Ltd. to use offshore Nigeria.
The contract calls for one 250-metric ton (275-ton) MacGregor active heave-compensated (AHC) subsea crane and one 20-metric ton (20-ton) MacGregor AHC subsea crane. These will be delivered in July 2014. Vessel delivery is set for the following August.
The vessel will have a main deck of 1,200 sq m (12,917 sq ft) and a mezzanine deck of 225 sq m (2,745 sq ft) on the 113-m (370-ft) long vessel.
