Constellation inks new 3-year drillship contract with Petrobras

Constellation Oil Services has been awarded a new contract with Petrobras for the deployment of the ultradeepwater Amaralina Star drillship for operations offshore Brazil.

Constellation Oil Services has been awarded a new contract with Petrobras for the deployment of the ultradeepwater Amaralina Star drillship for operations offshore Brazil.
This includes remote areas of frontier exploration, such as the Equatorial Margin and Pelotas Basin.
The contract value is about $528 million, which includes about $39 million mobilization fee and additional integrated services requested by Petrobras.
The Amaralina Star will operate under this new contract for a firm period of three years, beginning in first-quarter 2026. Then there is an option for a contract extension up to an additional 315 days, subject to mutual agreement.
The Amaralina Star is currently operating for Petrobras in the Roncador field in the Campos Basin offshore Brazil, and it will complete its term in fourth-quarter 2025. Afterward, it will undergo preparations for the new contract with adequacies, hull cleaning and class inspections of the vessel.
Amaralina Star,part of Constellation’s fleet, is a 6th generation ultradeepwater DP drillship capable of drilling in water depths of up to 10,000 ft and has a drilling depth capacity of up to 40,000 ft.
