Statoil reschedules North Sea Mariner oil field support work

Prosafe and Statoil (UK) have agreed to re-phase accommodation for the Mariner project in the UK northern North Sea from 2016 into 2017.

LARNACA, Cyprus – Prosafe and Statoil (UK) have agreed to re-phase accommodation for the Mariner project in the UK northern North Sea from 2016 into 2017.

Operations at the newMariner platform will now start by 3Q 2017 and will be performed by either the Safe Zephyrus or Safe Boreas accommodation support vessel.

The duration of the firm hire for either vessel has been extended from eight to 13 months, and in addition, Prosafe has granted Statoil six one-month options for the project.

These changes have increased the value of the contract from $76.3 million to $131.8 million.
