HELSINKI, Finland — Technology group Wärtsilä has signed an asset performance agreement with CSBC-DEME Wind Engineering (CDWE), a joint venture between CSBC Corp. and DEME Offshore.
It relates to CDWE’s new 216-m marine installation vessel Green Jade, designed and built in Taiwan.
The vessel will undertake diverse projects at varying offshore distances. The Wärtsilä life-cycle agreement is designed to support maximization of the vessel’s uptime and lessen the risk of delays to offshore installation work through ensuring regular maintenance, timely repairs and providing access to technical support.
Wärtsilä’s scope includes remote operational assistance, propulsion condition monitoring and provision of the company’s Wärtsilä’s Expert Insight predictive maintenance service.
The latter uses artificial intelligence and rule-based diagnostics to continuously monitor operating data to support asset availability and reliability.
The agreement extends to scheduled maintenance, including all major overhauls of the ship’s Wärtsilä engines and thrusters, along with supply of spare parts.
Time-between-overhaul guarantees should decrease the frequency of overhauls, the company added, helping to reduce the cost and minimizing the environmental impact of maintenance.
