MAN supplying engines for offshore power ships

MAN Energy Solutions has signed a contract to deliver 48 dual-fuel engines for Karpowership’s fleet of offshore power plant ships (Powerships).

AUGSBURG, GermanyMAN Energy Solutions has signed a contract to deliver 48 dual-fuel engines for Karpowership’s fleet of offshore power plant ships (Powerships).

The MAN 18V51/60DF engines, each with a mechanical output of 20.7 MW, will be split between various Powerships. The company will also supply the control systems and other electromechanical equipment.

Karpowership has a fleet of 36 Powerships with a total capacity of 6,000 MW. The future newbuilds to be equipped with MAN engines will be deployed in various regions offshore Asia, South and Central America and Africa.
