SINGAPORE — Aluminum ship builder Strategic Marine has signed a contract to collaborate with Bruneian Amarco on a fast crew boat to support long-term operations in Brunei’s offshore oil and gas sector.

The vessel will be prepared to accommodate a gyro stabilizer, with a further option to install a motion-compensated gangway.

In addition, it will be designed for future inclusion of a hybrid system that will allow it to perform certain operations on battery power.

The 42-m vessel will be equipped with a triple Baudouin 12M26.3 and ZF3050s, with projected maximum speeds of more than 27.5 knots.

Additional features include an external FIFI system and an oil dispersant system for firefighting and oil clean-up; a single bow thruster and auto trimming interceptors, providing the captain with intuitive control over the entire ship; and an interior featuring larger windows, reclining chairs with tray tables and USB charging for all passengers.

It should be ready for deployment later in 2024.
