Jadestone continues restoration work on Montara FPSO offshore Australia

SINGAPORE – Jadestone Energy is bringing more wells online at the Montara FPSO offshore northwest Australia, which came back online Sept. 1, following a program to address unexpected structural issues.

Production is currently about 8,000 bbl/d but should return to pre-shutdown levels of 6,000 bbl/d over the next few days. Ballast water tank 4P is back in service following the completion of final inspections and repairs.

Preparations have started for the repair of the previously reported defect between oil cargo tank 5C and ballast water tank 4S and additional inspections continue in tank 4S.

Jadestone plans to deploy a smaller and lower cost shuttle tanker to provide extra storage during a period when the FPSO’s storage capacity is constrained.
