HELSINKI, Finland— Wärtsilä will operate power modules onboard the FPSO on the Papa Terra oil field in the Campos Basin offshore Brazil for new operator 3R Petroleum.
The two companies have also signed a five-year optimized maintenance agreement. Wärtsilä had earlier provided support to the previous operator, Petrobras.
The FPSO has three power modules, each with two Wärtsilä 50 dual-fuel engines. Wärtsilä will continue to provide an onboard crew operating the modules 24/7.
For the optimized maintenance agreement, the company will monitor the engine performance remotely via a cyber-secure connectivity arrangement.
Using dynamic maintenance planning, the time between overhauls can be optimized to provide flexibility for scheduling maintenance.
