Euronav NV has become the outright owner of the FSO Africa and FSO Asia, after acquiring the 50% interests held by tanker group International Seaways.

ANTWERP, Belgium — Euronav NV has become the outright owner of the FSO Africa and FSO Asiafloating storage and offloading (FSO) units, after acquiring the 50% interests held by tanker group International Seaways.
The transaction has the approval of North Oil Co. (NOC), operator of the Al Shaheen Field offshore Qatar, co-owned by Qatar Petroleum Oil & Gas and Total E&P Golfe.
Both FSO units were converted from an ultra-large crude carrier and have operated at Al-Shaheen since 2010, with a capacity of 3 MMbbl.
On expiry of their current contract for these two custom-made units with a capacity of 3 MMbbl runs until third-quarter 2022. Following this, they will switch to a new 10-year contract with NOC.
