ELEFSINA, Greece – Asso Group has purchased the DP-3 DSV-CSV SBM Installer from SBM Offshore.
The company has renamed the vessel Athena. It will be used primarily as a trenching support vessel, but the Athena is also well equipped for cable laying and repairs as well as for diving, ROV, survey and IMR work.
Thanks to her twin-deck arrangement and a high-spec integrated set of anchor handling and towing winches, the company said, the Athena is a flexible asset, ideally equipped for multi-purpose roles in the growing floating offshore wind market.
In 2020, the company acquired the trenching support vessel Argo (ex-Polar King) from GC Rieber Shipping.
