OSLO, NorwayTMC will supply a marine compressed air system to the Sangomar FPSO offshore Senegal.

This is currently undergoing conversion from a VLCC at COSCO shipyard in Dalian, China, for the project operator Woodside Energy.

The package will comprise large-capacity service and instrument air compressors with associated air dryers and filters. The marine compressed air system, to be manufactured in Europe, will be delivered to COSCO for installation.

MODEC is responsible for supplying the FPSO Léopold Sédar Senghor, which is due to be delivered in early 2023 for permanent mooring in 780 m (2,559 ft) of water at the Sangomar field location, 100 km (62 mi) south of Dakar. It is designed to process 100,000 b/d of crude oil, 130 MMcf/d of gas, with water injection capacity of 145,000 b/d and crude storage capacity of 1.3 MMbbl.

“When vessels operate far from shore, operators want the most reliable equipment,” said TMC director of sales and business development, Hans Petter Tanum. “Our marine compressed air system is designed specifically for offshore and marine use and to allow the crew to conduct equipment maintenance themselves.”
