Offshore staff
SINGAPORE – Altera Infrastructure has contracted Sembcorp Marine Rigs & Floaters to perform the FEED for the FPSO for Santos’ Dorado oil and gas project offshore Western Australia.
The Dorado field, in the Bedout Sub-basin, is set to produce an initial 75,000-100,000 b/d of oil, followed by development of the gas resources. Santos is targeting one of the lowest emission intensity oil and gas projects in the region, due in part to the low CO₂ reservoir with plans for reinjection of gas in the initial phase.
Front-end engineering and design work should finish by 2Q 2022.
Santos and Oil Search Ltd. also announced that they had entered a Merger Implementation Deed, under which the two companies will combine via an Oil Search Scheme of Arrangement.
The combination, expected to be completed in December, will create a major regional player with a diverse portfolio of long-life, low-cost E&P assets across Australia, Timor-Leste, Papua New Guinea and North America, and pro-forma 2021 production of around 116 MMboe.
