RS updates floater equipment rules

Russian Maritime Register of Shipping has updated its rules concerning oil and gas equipment on floating production units, mobile offshore drilling units, and fixed offshore platforms.

SAINT PETERSBURG, Russia – Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) has updated its rules concerning oil and gas equipment on floating production units, mobile offshore drilling units, and fixed offshore platforms.

The new requirements impact hose stations for reception/delivery of drilling mud (mineral oil), waste drilling mud and drilling waste water, open hazardous drainages, processing of  fresh water, and the provision of free-flowing materials (weighting agent, cement) for loading and transportation into the pneumatic conveying system.

Additionally, RS has introduced new requirements for companies responsible for diagnostics, installation, and commissioning of drilling and process equipment.
