Sembcorp Marine sees uptick in offshore project tenders

SINGAPORE – Following the relaxation of COVID-19 measures in June, Sembcorp Marine’s yards in Singapore resumed production activities.

The operating yard workforce (including sub-contractors) is now almost at full workforce levels, the company said in its latest results statement.

With oil prices recovering operators have been reviewing deferred projects, increasing prospects for new work or resumption of delayed programs.

Currently Sembcorp is tendering for more than 10 projects, especially in renewable energy and the gas sector, with a similar number of tenders progressing for process solutions such as FPSOs, FSOs and FPUs.

In addition, its Repairs & Upgrades business is working on $333 million of existing orders and newly secured orders.

In consultation with customers, delivery dates for most projects have been rescheduled by between three and 12 months. To-date, there has been no cancellation of any of our existing projects.
