DUBAI, UAE – Shelf Drilling has issued an update on its jackup drilling rig fleet.
The company completed the purchase of the Shelf Drilling Enterprise (ex-Maersk Completer) from Maersk Drilling, and secured a contract for the rig for about 21 months firm plus 5 months option with Chevron Thailand. The contract is expected to start in August 2020.
Saudi Aramco awarded the High Island II, High Island IV, and Main Pass I 10-year extensions each, and the Main Pass IV a five-year extension. The High Island II is planned to be out of service in 2Q-3Q 2020. The High Island IV is planned to be out of service in 3Q 2020.
ExxonMobil has awarded the Trident XIV a one-year extension offshore Nigeria.
Four rigs started contracts in December 2019. The Shelf Drilling Achiever and C.E. Thornton began three-year contracts with Saudi Aramco and ONGC, respectively. The Shelf Drilling Scepter started its long-contract with Chevron Thailand, and the Parameswara began its four-month contract with HOEC.
In addition, the company has stacked the Galveston Key and Key Hawaii.
