BERGEN, Norway Seadrill Ltd. has contracted Semco Maritime to prepare and modify the semisubmersible West Bollsta prior to the rig’s 10-well contract with Lundin Norway on the Norwegian continental shelf in 2Q 2020.

The project will be executed at the company’s yard at Hanøytangen outside Bergen starting in mid-February 2020. It is expected to employ about 100 people.

The West Bollsta is a harsh environment semisub drilling rig, based on the Moss Maritime CS60 design. It is owned by Northern Ocean Ltd. and operated by Seadrill. The rig was built at the Hyundai Heavy Industries shipyard in 2019.
