Smit Lamnalco to manage Coral FLNG logistics

PAPENDRECHT, the NetherlandsCoral FLNG has contracted Smit Lamnalco, a Royal Boskalis Westminster’s 50%-owned associate company, to provide marine services to the first Mozambique floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) terminal.

The contract value is around $200 million, with services set to start in early 2022.

Smit Lamnalco will deploy three new 95-ton  bollard pull tugs to provide escort, berthing, and unberthing services to LNG carriers at the FLNG facility, with a new offshore support vessel employed for logistical and marine services support.

The FLNG terminal will be around 80 km (50 mi) offshore Palma Bay and will operate in a water depth of 2,000 m (6,562 ft).

Coral FLNG is a consortium of Eni, ExxonMobil, CNPC, Kogas, Galp Energia, and ENH.
