Subsea 7 is to install pipelines and an umbilical for Talisman Energy (UK) Ltd. in the Tartan field, located approximately 150 km northeast of St Fergus in 140 m of water.

The contract is for the development of the Tartan North Terrace "B" discovery as a subsea tie-back to the Tartan-A platform. The contract calls for installation of one 6-in. rigid production pipeline and a 3-in. gas lift pipeline of 3.4 km and a new umbilical to provide electrical control and signal functions. Tie-in at Tartan-A will be by way of 280-m flexible production and gas lift jumpers with the tie-in at the tree via conventional rigid tie-in spools. At each end of the pipelines a tee and valve assembly will facilitate future tie-ins. Additionally, assistance will be provided for the commissioning of the Well B tree controls systems with the new lines and umbilical system being pre-commissioned.

Project preparations are ongoing with offshore work due to begin in June using Subsea 7's pipelay vessel Skandi Navica, a diving support vessel, and a trenching spread.

Additionally, Subsea 7 received a contract for replacement pipeline works on Talisman's Beatrice field. This work involves laying and trenching 1.5 km of 6-in. pipeline. The combined value for both contracts is in excess of $10 million.
