Offshore pipelay is progressing for the Nord Stream 2 gas line in the Baltic Sea, with 1,000 km (621 mi) laid to date in Finnish, Swedish, and German waters.

ZUG, Switzerland – Offshore pipelay is progressing for the Nord Stream 2 gas line in the Baltic Sea, with 1,000 km (621 mi) laid to date in Finnish, Swedish, and German waters.
According to Nord Stream AG, around 20 vessels are involved in the project at present, with close to 1,300 personnel onboard the pipelay, pipe supply, and survey vessels.
Last week Wasco completed concrete weight coating of around 101,000 steel pipes at its plant in Kotka, Finland. This represents around half the total consignment needed for the twin pipelines.
