ABERDEEN, UK -- Energy consultancy Xodus Group has completed a subsea study for BG Norge for the Bream development project in the North Sea.
The Bream field is in block 17/12, 110 km (68 mi) west of Egersund on Norway’s west coast and 50 km (31 mi) northwest of the Yme field.
The 10-month program involved a front-end engineering design study (FEED) for the entire subsea system from the proposed FPSO through the wells. This included subsea engineering, pipeline design and riser analysis, and developing functional specifications and scopes of work for the execute phase.
Various complex issues within the subsea system including flow assurance and riser system work were addressed in the study.
Bream’s production will head through five producer wells equipped with downhole electrical submersible pumps (ESPs). In addition simultaneous water and gas (SWAG) injection will be applied via two injector wells.
Xodus also developed associated tree specifications, and deployed its new computational fluid dynamics technology to analyze the effects of commingling of water and gas prior to entering the injection wells.
