Brunei Shell to add flexible flowlines from Technip to Champion redevelopment

PARIS –Swiber Offshore Construction has awarded Technip a contract to supply flexible pipe to Brunei Shell’s Champion field production development.
Champion field is 40 km (25 mi) offshore Brunei in 45 m (148 ft) water depth. Technip will supply12 flexible flowlines totaling 19 km (12 mi) in length.
Brunei Shell Petroleum will use these flexible pipes in its project to increase Champion production. The Champion WaterFlood Project, divided into brownfield and greenfield, will be in several phases and aims to increase oil recovery from the field.
Technip’s operating center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, will execute the contract, which is scheduled to be completed in the first semester of 2013. The flexible flowlines will be manufactured at Technip’s Asiaflex Products plant in Tanjung Langsat, Malaysia.
