Technip to supply subsea pipelines for Edradour west of Shetland

Total E&P UK has awarded Technip a services contract for the newly launched Edradour subsea development 75 km (47 mi) northwest of the Shetland Islands in around 300 m (984 ft) of water.

PARIS – Total E&P UK has awarded Technip a services contract for the newly launched Edradour subsea development 75 km (47 mi) northwest of the Shetland Islands in around 300 m (984 ft) of water.
Technip’s scope covers fabrication and installation of 12-in. production pipelines and a 6-in. MEG pipeline with a 2-in. piggy backed service line; supply and installation of steel tube umbilical; fabrication and installation of a pipeline end manifold, flowline end termination, flexible tails and rigid well tie-in spools, as well as installation of templates and manifolds provided by the client; and rock dumping and pre-commissioning.
The company’s operating center in Oslo, Norway, will manage the program with Technip vessels performing the installations during the summer seasons of 2016 and 2017.
The company’s spoolbase in Evanton, Scotland, will fabricate thepipelines, while the umbilicals will be manufactured at the company’s new complex in Newcastle, northeast England.
