ABERDEEN, UK– Viper Subsea has unveiled the V-LIM at the Deep Offshore Technology International conference and exhibition in Aberdeen.
The V-LIM monitors the insulation resistance, polarization index, voltage, current, and capacitance of the umbilical and subsea equipment. The company says a key benefit of the product is its ability to measure insulation resistance levels down to 1 kilo ohm and up into the Giga Ohm range.
It is fully compatible with Viper Subsea’s V-LIFE technology, which can prevent early field decommissioning by extending the serviceable life of umbilicals.
