JDR has won a contract from Wintershall Noordzee BV for the design and manufacture of a hybrid power steel umbilical. This umbilical is for Ravn field in the North Sea.

LITTLEPORT, UK – JDR has won a contract from Wintershall Noordzee BV for the design and manufacture of a hybrid power steel umbilical. This umbilical is for the Ravn field in the North Sea.
JDR’s scope of work includes delivery of an 18.2-km (11.3-mi) umbilical, which will provide power and control for connecting a new platform to an existing platform for long-term well testing off the Danish coast. The composite umbilical comprises hydraulic hoses, super duplex steel tubes, MV power cores, and fiber optic cables. Additionally, JDR will provide the subsea hardware and lifecycle support.
The umbilical will be manufactured and loaded out at JDR’s deepwater, quayside Hartlepool, UK, facility, and will be delivered to the Ravn field. Delivery is scheduled for 3Q 2015.
