LONDON – Premier Oil has contracted Aker Offshore Partner to support the Solan oil field development west of Shetland.
Aker will provide hook-up, commissioning, and facility management services. The hook-up project involves tieback of two subsea production and two subsea injection wells to a fixed production platform in block 205/26a.
The platform, which will not be permanently manned, will produce oil to be stored in a subsea tank and exported to shuttle tankers via an offloading system.
Aker’s $46-million-plus contract runs for three years, with two one-year extension options. The company will perform the work from Aberdeen. First oil fromSolan is due in 4Q 2014, at an initial rate of 24,000 b/d.
