BRYNE, Norway – IKM Subsea says the Merlin work-class ROV is onboard the Siem Pride vessel conducting an inspection campaign for Norske Shell on the Ormen Lange and Draugen fields in the Norwegian Sea.
This will include pipeline surveys, structure and wellhead inspections.
Merlin is a fully electrical ROV system featuring a seven-thruster propulsion system. IKM claims it can work faster than conventional hydraulic ROVs.
Statoil has awarded sister company IKM Consultants a four-year framework agreement for multi-technical discipline and administrative consultancy services.
This covers the operator’s offshore and onshore activity and includes an extension option of two x two years.
