HAMBURG, Germany – DEA has awarded the first two major contracts for its Dvalin (ex-Zidane) gas/condensate development in the Norwegian Sea.
Aker Solutions won the NOK900-million ($113-million) contract to construct the subsea production system, comprising a manifold, four subsea trees, and a 15-km (9.3-mi) umbilical linking Dvalin to Statoil’s Heidrun platform.
The contract also covers supply of wellheads, controls, tie-in and workover systems, and options for further subsea production tieback connections to Heidrun. Deliveries are due to start during the first half of 2018.
In addition, Aker has a five-year framework contract for maintenance and servicing of all subsea production systems ordered under the first agreement, including installation and commissioning services. This contract may be extended by three-year periods.
Management, engineering, and procurement for the subsea production system will be handled from Aker’s base at Fornebu, near Oslo. The company’s plant in Tranby will deliver the subsea trees, while the yard at Egersund will supply the manifolds.
The Moss factory will provide the umbilical with Aker’s division in Aberdeen working on the control systems. The company’s service base in Ågotnes will be responsible for maintenance.
Aibel will build two new reception modules for installation at the Heidrun platform - a 4,000-ton (M40) gas treatment module and a 400-ton (H25) injection system. These will be installed in 2019 and 2018, respectively.
In addition, Aibel will clear the area on Heidrun and manage integration on the platform, with Statoil planning and executing the topsides modifications.
Aibel will manage engineering from its Oslo office, with construction undertaken at the company’s Haugesund yard.
At Heidrun, the gas will be part-processed in a new module before heading through the new Polarled pipeline to the Nyhamna onshore gas terminal.
DEA estimates recoverable reserves from Dvalin at around 18.2 bcm of gas and 0.4 MMcm of condensate.
