The umbilicals will comprise electrical and fiber-optic cables and hydraulic and chemical lines. In addition, the company will supply a pull in and hang off assembly and a subsea umbilical termination assembly (UTA).
Nexans says the technical and administrative procedures will be standardized, saving time, costs, and materials during the project.
Over the last three years the company has suppliedstatic and dynamic umbilicals for Statoil’s Oseberg Delta, Snøhvit, Smørbukk South, and Gullfaks/Rimfaks Valley projects. In total it will provide more than 50 km (31 mi) of static and dynamic umbilicals.
The cables will be manufactured at plants in Rognan and Halden, Norway, with delivery due to start this spring.
