ABERDEEN, UK — Ithaca Energy has completed its acquisition of the remaining 40% interest in the Fotla discovery in the UK central North Sea and three exploration licenses (P.213 Area C, P.345 Area A and P.2536) from Spirit Energy.

Fotla, now owned 100% by Ithaca, was discovered in August 2021 via the 22/1b-12 well and then appraised by two side-tracks. The location is in 431 ft of water in Block 22/1b, 10 km southwest of the Ithaca-operated Alba Field center.

Ithaca said its conceptual field development plan involves a subsea tieback to existing infrastructure. It aims to start production in 2026.
