SAN DONATO MILANESE, Italy—Saipem has won new engineering/T&I contracts for two major deepwater field developments offshore Guyana and Egypt.

ExxonMobil Guyana’s award is for the Uaru oilfield development in 2,000 m water depth in the offshore Stabroek Block.

Saipem’s scope covers the design, fabrication and installation of subsea structures, risers, flowlines and umbilicals for the extensive subsea production system.

Subject to government approval, final investment decision by the Stabroek partners and an authorization to proceed with the final phase, Saipem will start detailed engineering and procurement.

The company also secured further work from ExxonMobil for the Payara and Yellowtail projects in the same block, and it will deploy vessels including the FDS2 and Constellation.

In the Egyptian sector of the Mediterranean Sea, Saipem will transport, install and pre-commission 170 km of umbilicals for Petrobel for the latest phase of the Zohr gas field development.

The umbiilcals will be laid between the central control platform, in 70 m water depth, and the subsea production system and facilities in 1,500 m water depth. Saipem expects to start the offshore campaign next summer.
