HOUSTON — Helix Robotics Solutions has a 180-day contract to perform decommissioning duties offshore Thailand using its Grand Canyon IIsubsea construction support vessel (CSV).
The scope of work includes DP3 vessel services, crane support and ROV services connected to subsea well abandonment and decommissioning operations across numerous offshore fields. Work will start in late 2022.
Grand Canyon II is a DP3 multi-role CSV equipped with a 250-metric ton AHC subsea crane, moonpool, two 3,000-m rated 250-hp UHD ROVs, ROV deck space and removable bulwarks.
The vessel has been under long-term charter with Helix since 2015, with a five-year charter extension recently agreed through the end of 2027. Most recently, the vessel has been deployed offshore Taiwan for renewable energy/wind farm construction work.
