Petrofac taking on management of Tullow P&A campaign offshore Mauritania

Petrofac has grown its presence in Africa having been selected by Tullow Oil to provide subsea well decommissioning services offshore Mauritania.

LONDON — Tullow Oil has contracted Petrofac to provide well decommissioning services for the Banda and Tiof fields offshore Mauritania.
The work scope, with a potential value of more than $60 million, comprises project management, engineering, planning, and plugging and abandonment of seven subsea wells.
Petrofac assumes responsibility for the subsea well decommissioning scope from Maersk Decom, which has been preparing the program since 2020.
The offshore activities will run from fourth-quarter 2022 through first-quarter 2023. Petrofac will supply personnel, assets and equipment, and management of the Island Innovator drilling vessel and offshore support vessels.
