OSLO, Norway – Aker BP has permission from Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) to start up the Phase 2 subsea facilities for the Ærfugl field, a tieback to the Skarv FPSO in the Norwegian Sea.
The consent covers use of the G-1AH and H-1H production wells, including well frames, pipelines, valve trees, control and power cables.
In addition, the PSA has authorized Wintershall Dea to use the semisubmersible Scarabeo 8 for production drilling on the Nova field in the North Sea.
The consent covers drilling and completion of two injection and three production wells. Nova is being tied back to the platform serving the Gjøa field via two four-slot subsea templates, each with three wells tied-back to the Gjøa platform. Production is due to start in 2022.
Neptune Energy has permission from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate for exploratory drilling in PL 882 in the North Sea. The semisub Deepsea Yantai will drill well 33/6-5 S, 8 km (4.97 mi) northwest of the Snorre field.
