Nexans to deliver Bacalhau umbilicals

Subsea Integration Alliance has contracted Nexans to supply 44 km (27 mi) of steel tube umbilicals and accessories for the Bacalhau oil field development offshore Brazil.

PARIS – Subsea Integration Alliance (SIA) has contracted Nexans to design, manufacture, and supply 44 km (27 mi) of steel tube umbilicals and accessories for the Bacalhau oil field development offshore Brazil.

The SIA between Subsea 7 and OneSubsea is responsible for the subsea, umbilical, risers, and flowlines front-end engineering and design for Equinor’s ultra-deepwater project. 

Nexans will manufacture 2.5 km (1.6 mi) of gas-lift umbilical, 35 km (22 mi) of static umbilical, 6.9 km (4.3 mi) of dynamic umbilical and accessories at its facility in Halden, Norway.

 The umbilicals are scheduled to be delivered in 4Q 2022.

The Bacalhau field is 185 km (115 mi) from the coast of the State of São Paulo in water depths of around 2,050 m (6,726 ft).
