BHP has awarded Doris a front-end engineering and design contract for the Trion field development offshore Mexico.

PARIS – BHP Billiton Petróleo Operaciones de Mexico, S. De R. L. De C.V. has awarded Doris a front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract for the Trion field development offshore Mexico.
The company will provide FEED for the subsea umbilicals risers and flowlines (SURF). Doris completed pre-FEED scope.
The Trion field encompasses an area of 1,285 sq km (496 sq mi) and is in the Mexican waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Water depth is about 2,500 m (8,202 ft).
BHP is the operator and holds 60% interest in the development. PEMEX Exploration and Production holds the remaining 40% interest.
