MOSCOWGazprom has agreed to expand its co-operation with Russia’s Ministry of industry and Trade concerning equipment, components, and spare parts for subsea production complexes.

The aim is to ensure preferential use of domestic equipment for pre-development of the Kirinskoye and Yuzhno-Kirinskoye gas and condensate fields offshore Sakhalin Island, eastern Russia.

Prototypes of the first Russian equipment for subsea production systems were developed and presented in October 2019 at the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum.

According to Gazprom, Russian companies have built up new design capabilities and adopted key manufacturing technologies. Production of samples intended for batch manufacturing, along with full testing and certification procedures, are scheduled for 2021.

This year, a package of documents for new R&D initiatives was submitted to the ministry, covering auxiliary equipment and tools for maintenance of the core equipment of subsea production systems.
