LONDON – TechnipFMC has completed pull-in operations of the dynamic umbilical for the Duva field subsea tieback at the Gjøa semisubmersible platform in the Norwegian North Sea.
According to Gjøa operator Neptune Energy, the program was conducted without shutting down operations at the platform.
Duva – the company’s first discovery in the Norwegian North Sea – is 14 km (8.7 mi) northeast of Gjøa in a water depth of 340 m (1,115 ft). Neptune estimates gross 2P reserves at 88 MMboe (gas 76%).
It is under development via three oil producer wells and one gas producer, all tied back to Gjøa. The umbilical, which will transfer power, hydraulics, chemicals and communication between the subsea facilities and the platform, comprises an 806-m (2,644-ft) dynamic section connected to a 12.3-km (7.6-mi) static section by a transition joint.
TechnipFMC managed offshore operations from the North Sea Atlantic vessel over the course of five days.
The next main subsea task will be the spool tie-ins, followed by development drilling by the semisubmersible Deepsea Yantai, operated by Odfjell Drilling. Topsides work will continue until first oil, currently expected next summer.
