GUILDFORD, UK – Most of the subsea facilities are now in place for Zennor Petroleum’s Finlaggan gas-condensate development in the UK central North Sea.

The project, in blocks 21/05c and 21/05d, license P2013, is targeting 30 MMboe through two subsea production wells tied back to the Britannia platform.

This year’s installation campaign involved use of six vessels over the summer, and included laying and trenching of a 20-km (12.4-mi) long, 10-in. pipe-in-pipe pipeline.

Following flushing and pigging, a 20-km infield umbilical was laid in the open trench adjacent to the pipeline.

Rock dumping of the pipeline and umbilical finished last weekend, and critical work inside the Britannia 500-m (1,640-ft) zone is also completed with the installation of the subsea isolation valve structure and pull-in of the SSIV umbilical to the Britannia platform.

At year-end Zennor expects the project to approach the 85% completion point.

The F1 and F2 production wells have been drilled and tested, each flowing at rates above 12,000 boe/d and at higher than anticipated flowing wellhead pressures.

Remaining subsea work, including set-down of a manifold at the Finlaggan location, will take place following the planned Britannia/FPS shut down next year. Production is expected to get under way in 4Q 2020.

At the same time Zennor is progressing its operated Greenwell and Leverett projects in blocks 15/29c, 21/2d and 21/3d, assessing bids for wellheads and site surveys that will enable a pilot well to be drilled on Greenwell in 2020 ahead of a planned fast track development through the Britannia Area infrastructure.

Technical discussions continue with the block 21/03a licensees over plans for the Leverett discovery, another tieback candidate. Zennor is targeting start-up from Greenwell in 2022 and from Leverett in 2023.

In addition, planning is under way for the company’s non-operated Platypus and Skua projects in the UK sector, both expected to secure sanction in 2020.
