Built to the KFELS Super B Class rig design, Seatrium says the Var jackup rig can accommodate up to 150 persons with full amenities. Â
Seatrium Ltd. has delivered Var, its fifth KFELS Super B Class newbuild jackup ordered by Borr Drilling, from its Pioneer Yard in Singapore.
The first three rigs, novated by Borr to ADNOC Drilling, were completed in 2022 and 2023, with Borr taking delivery of the fourth in August this year.
Var, like the others in the series, is designed to operate in water depths of up to 400 ft and down to depths of up to 35,000 ft. It can drill deep wells both vertically and horizontally.
Equipment features include a fully automated, high-capacity rack and pinion jacking system. The cantilever structure provides a maximum combined load of 3,700 kips.
