Velesto Energy’s NAGA 6 jackup rig has completed a five-yearly special periodical survey at Labuan Shipyard in Malaysia.
The scope of work covered:
- Class recertification, upgrades, repairs and maintenance such as underwater inspection in lieu of dry docking (UWILD);
- Drilling equipment system maintenance, well control equipment recertification, marine system maintenance;
- Upgrades to the pipe racking, zone management and CCTV systems; and
- NOVOS hardware installation and removal of some piping and steel.
The rig is now due to mobilize to Sarawak to continue a contract awarded in March by Petronas Carigali. The program, which also covers the NAGA 2 and NAGA 4, should last through February 2026.
