BERGEN, Norway  Odfjell Drilling has signed contracts with Equinor for the Deepsea Atlantic semisub to perform operations in the North Sea region for a firm combined duration of 23 months.

The estimated value is $290 million,  excluding integrated services, upgrades/modifications or mobilization fees. Included are provisions for performance bonuses and fuel incentives.

In addition, there are four priced one-well options and three further optional periods, each for about one year.

Work on the campaign will start following completion of the rig’s special periodic survey, currently planned for the first half of 2024. Deepsea Atlantic is now booked until mid-2026, with options to extend to 2029.

Odfjell and Equinor have also entered into a strategic collaboration agreement to focus on safety, drilling efficiency and lowering of emissions. The accord will provide the framework for a longer-term collaboration on these issues.
