OSLO, Norway— Glamox will provide marine lighting for six offshore wind vessels.
The company won contracts from Integrated Wind Solutions (IWS) Fleet in Norway to supply four wind turbine commissioning and service operation vessels as well as from Cadeler in Denmark for two wind turbine installation vessels for Cadeler A/S of Denmark.
For IWS Fleet, Glamox will provide navigation and signal lights, search lights and energy-efficient LED lighting, with about 2,500 light points per vessel.
The new Skywalker Class ships are equipped with cranes and ‘walk-to-work’ gangways for access to offshore structures and go on to support operations and maintenance during the life of a wind farm.
The first new vessel will assist the Dogger Bank wind farm complex in the UK North Sea.
Glamox will provide Cadeler A/S with search lights, floodlights, emergency lighting and energy-efficient LED linear and downlights for two new wind turbine installation vessels, with about 2,300 light points per vessel.
The X-class ships are due to start service in 2024 and 2025. Both will have a deck space of 5,600 sq m, a payload of more than 17,600 metric tons and main crane capacity of more than 2,000 metric tons at 53 m.
They will be able to transport and install seven full 15-MW turbine sets per load or five sets of 20+MW turbines. Each can accommodate 130 people.
