They have exercised the remaining three one-well options of the vessel’s current contract and added a further eight wells.
A five-well workscope will be novated to PTTEP for drilling and plugging and abandonment activities at the Kikeh Field offshore Sabah, with an estimated duration of 116 days. This program should start in November, in direct continuation of the drillship’s previous workscope.
After completing these activities, Maersk Viking will undergo a scheduled special periodic survey, followed by a six-well drilling campaign with the two Shell subsidiaries from fourth-quarter 2023 onward, with an estimated duration of 281 days.
Total firm value of the contract extension and additional work is about $153 million, including demobilization and mobilization and used of managed pressure drilling on certain wells. And there are options to add work on a total of 11 wells.
