SHARJAH, UAE – Fabricator Lamprell is bidding for projects with a combined value of $6.9 billion, around half of which are for renewable energy.

The company is expecting decisions to be taken on certain projects over the remainder of this year.

Work for Saudi Arabian company International Maritime Industries for newbuild jackup drilling rigs is entering the peak fabrication phase, with major equipment packages currently being delivered to the site for installation.

Lamprell’s first contract award under the Saudi Aramco Long-Term Agreement (LTA) program is in the final stages of engineering, with first steel due to be cut next month.

The second EPCI project for Saudi Aramco LTA, awarded in April, is in the engineering and procurement phase. The company is also engaging with other clients in the Middle East region for rig refurbishments.

Deliveries for the Seagreen offshore wind farm in the UK North Sea have started with the first five jackets handed over at the quayside in Hamriyah. By the end of the year, Lamprell expects to have constructed close to 150 jacket foundations for three of the UK’s largest offshore wind schemes, with an investment earlier in the year in the design and fabrication of a lifting frame leading to improved efficiencies.

The company’s Digital business unit has formed partnerships with Injazat/G42 and Akselos, and various other ventures are progressing, from cost solutions at the yards to digital service offerings for energy industry clients.
