HOUSTON – SOFEC has cut first steel for the external turret mooring system for the FPSO for Woodside Energy’s Sangomar field development offshore Senegal.

Parent company MODEC will supply the FPSO which will operate around 100 km (62 mi) south of Dakar, Senegal, in 789 m (2,588 ft) water depth.

SOFEC is responsible for all EPC activities related to the mooring system and its ancillary components, and will also assist turret and offshore hookup and commissioning, due to be performed in 2023.
