STAVANGER, Norway – Two Prosafe semisubmersible accommodation/support rigs have returned to service offshore Brazil.
In April, Petrobras suspended the contracts due to global developments, with both rigs subsequently on zero day rates for 120 days. This changed to standby day rates from early August.
The Safe Eurus’ three-year safety and maintenance support contract started in November 2019. The rig resumed operations on Sept. 24.
The Safe Notos’ contract was due to terminate in July. It resumed service in early October.
Prosafe added that it continues to pursue the full value of a contract awarded by EnQuest for a planned removal project involving the Safe Zephyrus at the Thistle field center in the UK North Sea.
