BERGEN, Norway – Scana subsidiary Skarpenord has a letter of intent from the Rosenberg Worley shipyard in Stavanger to upgrade valve control systems on the Jotun FPSO.

The full scope involves supply of hydraulic power units and control systems to comply with current regulations.

The Kvaerner Rosenberg shipyard Finland built the vessel in the late 1990s, with completion work undertaken at Rosenberg Stavanger.

After more than 20 years of offshore service, the vessel has returned to Stavanger for a comprehensive series of upgrades for Vår Energi’s Balder X project, allowing it to operate on the Balder field in the North Sea until 2045.

Skarpenord is due to deliver its equipment to the shipyard in spring 2021.
