LYSAKER, NorwayAker BP will deploy Yxney Maritime’s Maress cloud-based software to obtain insights into the fuel consumption and emissions from offshore vessels serving its fields on the Norwegian shelf.

The Maress software provides a foundation for making informed and data-driven decisions on how to decarbonize operations.

Gunn Elin Hellegaard, vice president for Logistics & Marine at Aker BP said: “This will also be an important tool to drive improvement and enable full effect of the performance incentivized contacts with our strategic partners for platform supply vessels.”

According to Yxney Maritime, for a company such as Aker BP chartering vessels from a range of owners, compiling and structuring fuel and emission data is a major task.

Maress connects to available data streams from vessel hardware and makes the data comparable across vessels, segments, or specific parts of the operations.

Aker BP will be able to use the system to closely track efficiency both of individual vessels and the chartered fleet as a whole.

It can use the data to determine which fuel saving initiatives to apply or evaluate the direct savings from initiatives such as installation of a battery system on a vessel.

The agreement between the two companies runs for a year, with an option to extend.
