ROTTERDAM, the Netherlands – Heerema’s semisubmersible crane vessel Sleipnir has received the largest LNG bunkering ever completed, the company claims.

Titan LNG performed the delivery of almost 3,300 metric tons (3,637 tons) within a 24-hr period, using the LNG carrier Coral Fraseri in the Port of Rotterdam.

The Sleipnir arrived at the Port over a week ago following various offshore installation programs. The vessel has a hot/cold energy recovery system and is able to run on LNG.

According to Heerema, LNG emits a less CO2 than other commonly used fuels.
