BP books Valaris drillship for five wells offshore Senegal, Mauritania

Valaris plc has provided an update on its offshore drilling rig fleet.

LONDON Valaris plc has provided an update on its offshore drilling rig fleet.

Murphy has exercised a one-well priced option for the VALARIS DS-15 (Renaissance) in the US Gulf of Mexico. With an estimated duration of 45 days, it is expected to run from late March to early May 2020.

BP has awarded the VALARIS DS-12 a one-well contract offshore Egypt, with an estimated duration of 120 days from February to June 2020.

Premier Oil has awarded the VALARIS DS-9 a one-well contract offshore Brazil that is expected to start in July 2020. Estimated duration is 60 days.

BP has awarded the VALARIS DS-7 a five-well contract offshore Senegal and Mauritania that is expected to begin in September 2020. Estimated duration is 320 days. It includes a one-well priced option and two one-well unpriced options.

Kosmos Energy has extended the semisubmersible VALARIS 8503’s contract in the US Gulf of Mexico by about 80 days from early April to late June 2020 to complete the well in progress.

An undisclosed operator has awarded the semisubmersible VALARIS MS-1 a one-well contract offshore Australia that is expected to start in July 2020. Estimated duration is 120 days.

W&T Offshore has awarded that VALARIS JU-75 a one-well contract in the US Gulf of Mexico that is expected to start this month. Estimated duration is 30 days.

In addition, the drilling contractor has sold and retired from its fleet the semisubmersibles VALARIS 6002 and VALARIS 5006, and the jackups VALARIS JU-96 and VALARIS JU-68.

Also, the VALARIS JU-70 was classified as held for sale.
